Hot Dogs Day 2 - Drunk Dogs

Here is Day #2 of using up my 3 pounds of hot dogs. We figured out there will be a total of 4 days. When looking for hot dog ideas, I am trying to find ones that will work for camping, too. This recipe you can do in your RV, camp stove or if you have the ability to cook on a fire with a frying pan or even a Dutch oven.

Ingredients
 You need:
1 tablespoon butter & 1/2 cup butter
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 (12 ounce) bottle dark beer
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 to 1 teaspoon hot sauce (we used Chipotle Tobasco sauce)
8 hot dogs

First, melt the 1 tablespoon of butter in the skillet and cook the onion until the onion is softened and the liquid is released (about 10 minutes).

Cooking The Onion
Next, add the beer, the 1/2 cup butter, garlic powder and hot sauce and bring to a boil until the beer begins to froth.
Bringing To A Boil
Reduce the heat and add the hot dogs to the mixture. Simmer until hot dogs are heated through (5 to 8 minutes)
Cooking The Hot Dogs
Serve and enjoy! If I liked mustard, that would have been really good on this hot dog. I think it would have been good with any kind of beer, too.

Still 2 more days of hot dogs! The next 2 days aren't recipes I found on the Internet. One day will be dedicated to my dad and the one will be to my husband because they were the ones that came up with the ideas.
